Corrosion et fatigue des matériaux [2022-2024]

Wear, fatigue and corrosion are a set of phenomena that act alone or in combination. This problem is directly related to the concerns of industrialists during the maintenance of oil installations. It has been observed that the combined presence of cyclic loads and a corrosive environment is the cause of material fatigue. Metal parts in service are generally subjected to variable and repeated loadings. These loads can lead to the formation and propagation of microcracks which subsequently can lead to the sudden rupture of the part under the effect of the fatigue phenomenon, hence the need to carry out this study and understand under the simultaneous action of mechanical, electrical or electromechanical stress and an aggressive chemical environment the behavior of steels and their assemblies, and study the impact of phenomena such as flow or adhesion on the roughness of the metal surface. Project summary: Wear, fatigue and corrosion are a combination of phenomena that occur alone or in combination. This problem is directly related to the concerns of industrialists during the maintenance of installations. It has been found that the combined presence of cyclic loads and a corrosive environment is the cause of material fatigue. Metal parts in service are usually subjected to variable and repeated loading. These loads can lead to the formation and propagation of micro-cracks which can then lead to the sudden failure of the part under the effect of the fatigue phenomenon, hence the need to carry out this study and to understand the behavior of steels and their assemblies under the simultaneous action of a mechanical, electrical or electromechanical stress and an aggressive chemical environment, and to study the impact of phenomena such as flow or adhesion on the roughness of the metal surface
