Choice of coatings for protection against corrosion [2013-2015]

Materials undergo corrosion that can lead to a rapid deterioration of their physicochemical properties and their life. This is due to the aggressive corrosive environment with particles, the change in temperature, pH, salinity or acidity, etc.

In this project, in the first place, we will study the corrosion by electrochemical methods, studying the electrochemical behavior of various metallic materials such as low alloy steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys and alloys aluminum.
Secondly, we are interested in the development and characterization of thin film anticorrosion. These layers will be developed in two chemical or physical way (SOL GEL or ELECTROLYTE or PVD). We study the influence of various deposition parameters on the physico-chemical properties, electrical and corrosion resistance of the layers developed.
