1- Characterization of thin film materials for the realization of agile antenna.

The main objective of this research project consists of  the miniaturization of new frequency tunable antenna structures based on thin films. This type of antenna, which has the ability to change its operating frequency, is attracting growing interest for wireless communication standards. In the literature, this reconfiguration functionality is performed by tunable lumped elements such as; PIN diodes, varicap diodes, FET transistors and MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical System) or with the use of agile materials ( for example the BST ; BaxSr1-xTiO3 or the KTN ; KTa1-xNbxO3) . In this work, we are interested in the use of innovative materials in thin layers to perform the reconfigurability.

  • Elaboration and characterization of ferroelectric materials in thin films.
  • Integration of ferroelectric materials in microwave devices.
  • Design of new reconfigurable antenna structures based on tunable materials.
